Busan Cultural Foundation to Host Youth Art Fair 'UNDER 39'
Unique Works by Young Artists Gathered in One Place
Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Cultural Foundation will host the '2024 Youth Art Fair' for a total of nine days from September 21 to 29 at the central plaza on the basement level 2 of Shinsegae Department Store Centum City, in celebration of Youth Week.
The Youth Art Fair, operated as part of Busan's Youth Culture Development Support Project, is an art fair where visual artists aged 39 or younger, active in Busan, sell their works. Now in its ninth year, the event will begin with an opening ceremony at 2 p.m. on September 21 and run until September 29, with free admission for all visitors.
This year's art fair will feature 30 young artists, selected through an open call, who are actively working in Busan. In addition to on-site exhibitions and sales, online sales using Flea Auction are also planned, making it easy to purchase artworks both online and offline.
There will also be participatory programs for citizens to experience diverse forms of art, a section for artist goods where visitors can purchase products related to the artists' works, and an 'UNDER 100000' zone designed to lower the entry barrier for art purchases.
Lee Miyeon, CEO of the Busan Cultural Foundation, stated, "The Youth Art Fair will become an important driving force for young artists and enrich the future art world. We ask for your continued interest and support so that young artists can continue their activities in the region."
