At 11:29 a.m. on the 12th, a fire broke out at a lumber factory in Sangpyeong-dong, Jinju, Gyeongnam.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Department, there were no casualties from the fire, but half of one lumber storage warehouse and part of the dust collection facility were burned, resulting in property damage estimated at approximately 29 million won by the fire department.
After receiving a report from a company official, the fire authorities dispatched 43 personnel and 15 pieces of equipment, bringing the main fire under control by 12:14 p.m. and fully extinguishing it by 12:51 p.m.
The fire authorities believe that sparks were caused by internal friction when a blade of the wood processing machine broke, and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
