November 14-17 Event Held in Busan
Currently, a Total of 3,281 Booths Have Applied to Participate
The G-STAR international game exhibition, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, is expected to be held on the largest scale ever.
The G-STAR Organizing Committee announced on the 12th that as of the 6th, a total of 3,281 booths have been confirmed for participation in the event. This is about 101% of the number at the same time last year, which was the largest scale ever. There are 2,364 booths in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) section and 917 booths in the Business-to-Business (B2B) section. The event will take place over four days from November 14 to 17 at BEXCO in Busan.
This year’s main sponsor is Nexon. Nexon will set up 300 booths, the largest scale in the B2C section, to showcase various new releases. It will also participate in the B2B section with 30 booths, the largest scale there as well.
At G-CON, one of G-STAR’s key side events, Nexon will be responsible for two lectures. On the first day’s keynote speech, Yoon Myung-jin, CEO of Neople, a core subsidiary of Nexon, will appear. Kim Yong-ha, the general producer at Nexon Games who developed Blue Archive, will also participate as a speaker. Other speakers include Shinji Mikami, founder of Tango Gameworks, and Geum Gang-seon, the producer of Lost Ark.
The platform for showcasing indie games will also be expanded. An indie showcase will be held in collaboration with the global game platform Steam. Various indie developer games participating in the event can be experienced through the Steam Deck space.
This year, G-STAR will maintain the 100% advance reservation system introduced last year. General admission tickets can be reserved from the 15th of next month through the official G-STAR website and the official application (app).
Kang Shin-cheol, the organizing committee chairman, said, “This year’s G-STAR is a very important milestone marking its 20th anniversary,” adding, “It will be a significant year to look at the new face and future blueprint of G-STAR for the next 20 years.”
