Total Project Cost of 36.4 Billion KRW over 4 Years... Disaster Prevention Project Underway
Ugum District in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, has been finally selected for the '2025 Comprehensive Flood and Disaster Risk Management Project' organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
According to Pocheon-si on the 11th, the Comprehensive Flood and Disaster Risk Management Project is a project that integrates previously separate maintenance projects conducted for each unit to resolve disaster risks, by conducting a comprehensive disaster risk analysis and promoting the project on a regional basis.
Pocheon-si was selected for the project after the first document screening in April, the second presentation screening, and the third final screening, securing 27.3 billion KRW in national and local government funds.
From 2025 to 2028, Pocheon-si plans to invest a total of 36.4 billion KRW, including 27.3 billion KRW in national and local government funds, to establish and implement a comprehensive plan to protect citizens' lives and property during typhoons and heavy rainfall.
Pocheon-si plans to carry out disaster prevention projects to prevent flood damage, including river maintenance in Gasan-myeon Gamam 1 and 2-ri areas vulnerable to disasters during heavy rainfall, installation of drainage pump stations in low-lying flood-prone areas, and bridge reconstruction.
