Busan Office of Education to Recruit 449 Public and Private Elementary and Special Education Teachers
Public: 448 (Elementary: 411, Special Kindergarten and Elementary: 37), Private Elementary: 1
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo) announced on the morning of the 11th, through its official website, the '2025 Busan Metropolitan Public (Private) Elementary and Special School Teacher Recruitment Examination Plan,' which aims to select 449 teachers for public and private elementary and special (kindergarten and elementary) schools.
This year's public school recruitment numbers reflect vacancies due to teacher retirements, honorable resignations, and transfers of Neulbom Support Office heads, as well as changes in the quota for special and elementary school teachers. Compared to the preliminary notice in August, the number of special school (elementary) teachers to be recruited has increased by four.
The number of teachers to be recruited in each category is as follows: 411 elementary school teachers (379 general, 32 for persons with disabilities), 6 special school kindergarten teachers (5 general, 1 for persons with disabilities), and 31 special school elementary teachers (28 general, 3 for persons with disabilities).
The number of teachers to be recruited for private schools is one elementary school teacher commissioned by a single foundation.
Applications will be accepted from 9:00 a.m. on the 30th until 6:00 p.m. on the 4th of the following month. The first round of exams will be held on November 9, and the successful candidates will be announced on December 11. The second round will take place from January 8 to 10 next year, with final results to be announced on February 5 next year.
The recruitment exam consists of a first round covering teaching essay and curriculum, and a second round including in-depth interviews, lesson plan writing, and demonstration lessons. For elementary school teachers, an additional English lesson demonstration and English interview are required.
For public schools, the number of candidates who pass the first round will be 1.5 times the number of positions available in each category. Final successful candidates will be determined by combining the scores from both the first and second rounds.
