A meditation YouTuber with hundreds of thousands of subscribers is under investigation for sexual harassment allegations.
On the 11th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced, "A complaint against Mr. A, a meditation YouTuber who operates a YouTube channel and meditation centers, was filed in May and is currently under investigation." Mr. A is accused of sexually harassing minors and others he met through his meditation center students and volunteer groups. So far, a total of four victims have reported to the police, including minors.
Ms. B, who revealed the victimization, told JTBC, "I took one-on-one meditation lessons from Mr. A, and near the end of the session, he suddenly stood up, turned around, and told me to lean against the wall." She added, "Then he groped my body from head to toe from behind." She also said, "When I protested, Mr. A said, 'I like you, but I can't say that because I'm married,' and hugged my waist."
Additionally, the parents of Ms. C, a minor who claimed to have been sexually harassed during volunteer activities, revealed, "Mr. A put his hand inside her clothes and touched her body parts, saying, 'Aren't you very hot?'" Ms. C was confirmed to have an intellectual disability.
Meanwhile, Mr. D, who met Mr. A after returning to Korea from living abroad, stated, "Mr. A sent text messages saying, 'Come to bed and sleep with me,' and 'I like kissing.'" Mr. D filed a complaint with the police, and in July, Mr. A was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won and ordered to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program.
