Gyeonggi-do Advances Basic Living Allowance for September by 7 Days, Disbursed Before Chuseok
Gyeonggi Province will pay the September livelihood benefits to Basic Livelihood Security recipients today, the 13th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it decided to advance the payment of livelihood benefits, which are usually paid on the 20th of each month according to the Basic Livelihood Security Act, to reduce the burden on recipients before the Chuseok holiday.
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province requested the change of the livelihood benefit payment date to the city and county governments, notified them of the detailed schedule for this purpose, and is monitoring the payment system processing status while cooperating with the city and county governments.
Livelihood benefits are provided to cover necessary daily living expenses to guarantee basic living. Recipients are selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of household income and assets, and those within 32% of the standard median income are eligible. Payments vary monthly depending on the number of household members. The selection criterion for a four-person household in 2024 is 1,833,572 KRW per month.
