Gijang County Selected for Ilgwangsan Morning Sunshine Garden Forest Landscape Project... Secures 600 Million Won in National Funding
Hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Improving Residents' Quality of Life
Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on the 10th that the "Ilgwangsan Achimhaetsal Garden Forest Landscape Project" has been finally selected for the "2025 Green Belt Resident Support Project" hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, securing a project budget of 600 million KRW.
The "Green Belt Resident Support Project" is a program supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to improve the quality of life for residents in green belt areas and to promote balanced regional development. The project is divided into "living infrastructure projects" such as village access road construction and parking lot creation, and "environmental and cultural projects" such as trail creation and landscape projects.
Last year, four projects were finally selected for the "2024 Resident Support Project," allowing the county to secure 2.8 billion KRW in national funding. This year, with the selection of the "Ilgwangsan Achimhaetsal Garden Forest Landscape Project," an additional 600 million KRW in national funding has been secured.
The "Ilgwangsan Achimhaetsal Garden Forest Landscape Project" involves remodeling existing aging sports and pavilion facilities within Ilgwangsan and newly creating features such as the Dolsam Barefoot Garden. Through this project, residents and hikers visiting Ilgwangsan are expected to enjoy a variety of attractions as well as the mountain's outstanding natural ecological landscape.
