Development Plan for Seosan Hyundai Daejuk 2 Industrial Complex in Chungnam Province Announced
Constructed on a 681,187㎡ Site within the Daesan Petrochemical Complex
The Hyundai Daejuk 2 Industrial Complex in Seosan, Chungnam is set to begin operations in 2030.
The Chungnam Provincial Government announced on the 10th that it has approved and officially announced changes to the development plan for the Seosan Hyundai Daejuk 2 General Industrial Complex.
The Hyundai Daejuk 2 General Industrial Complex will be established within the Daesan Petrochemical Complex, covering an area of 681,187 square meters. The complex is expected to house industries such as coke, briquette, and petroleum product manufacturing, as well as chemical substances and chemical product manufacturing.
The provincial government expects that the establishment of the complex will lay the foundation for a high-functioning and advanced chemical industry, and attract high value-added industries that utilize by-products from crude oil refining.
The production inducement effect is estimated at 5.4 trillion won, the employment inducement effect at 13,000 jobs, and the value-added effect at 1.7 trillion won.
The project is also expected to have a positive impact on the construction of the Bay Valley, a key initiative of the 8th popularly elected administration.
Kwon Kyungseon, head of the Provincial Industrial Location Division, said, "The Daesan Petrochemical Complex in Seosan is home to many global oil and chemical companies and leads the Korean economy. Once the Hyundai Daejuk 2 General Industrial Complex is established in front of the Daesan Complex, it will be able to meet the demand for business locations centered on the oil and chemical industries."
