Gwangjin-gu Installs High-Intensity Lighting in Alleyway Commercial Areas near Achasan Hiking Trails
Activation of Achasan Alley Commercial Area... Installation of 7 New Nighttime Spotlights
Ensuring Safety by Illuminating Dark Night Streets, Attracting Attention with Diverse and Bright Colors
Lighting Ceremony Held on the 9th, Kim Kyungho, Gwangjin District Mayor, Meets Small Business Owners for Communication
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has newly installed gobo lighting to improve the nighttime scenery of the Achasan hiking trail alley commercial district.
This is part of the ‘2024 Alley Commercial District Small Business Support Project,’ a collaboration with the Credit Guarantee Foundation. To make the Achasan commercial district, which has a high floating population, a more distinctive place, seven new lights were installed.
Gobo lighting is a device that projects images and text engraved on special films onto the ground. Using light-emitting diode (LED) technology, it shines brightly to attract pedestrians’ attention and illuminates dark alleys, enhancing safety.
The target area covers the vicinity from Cheonho-daero 129-gil to Jayang-ro 45-gil. Colorful lights were placed throughout shops stretching from Guui-dong to Junggok-dong. Warm and heartening phrases such as ‘Flower Road,’ ‘Cheer Up,’ and ‘Happiness’ catch the eye.
The lighting ceremony was held on the 9th with the attendance of Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, the Achasan hiking trail merchants’ association, and 30 other related personnel. Following the commemorative event of lighting all seven lamps simultaneously, time was spent communicating with small business owners at each store.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “We installed gobo lighting with various colors to create a bright and safe alley commercial district,” adding, “We will strive to expand support at the commercial district level and implement policies that are practically needed by small business owners.”
