Evaluation and judging are based on the youth-friendliness index, which considers the operation of youth participation organizations, youth support projects, and the hosting and participation in youth-related events.
Geochang County, which won the 'Policy Award' in both 2022 and 2023, has been selected as an excellent local government for the third consecutive year, receiving high marks not only in the policy field but also in the communication field this year.
In particular, the county has actively promoted youth policy governance, such as the Youth Network and Youth Policy Committee, to strengthen youth participation and communication, encouraging independent social participation by young people. Centered around 'Geochang Youth Sai', a youth hub space, the county has operated various programs tailored to youth needs, such as youth classes and economic education, supporting the empowerment and growth of young people.
County Governor Koo Inmo said, "This award is the result of continuous and steady communication and empathy with young people," adding, "We will strive to become a youth-friendly city where youth and the region grow together through ongoing communication with young people."
