Chungnam Province to Operate 24-Hour Emergency Medical System During Chuseok Holiday
Chungnam Province will operate an emergency medical care system from the 11th to the 25th during the Chuseok holiday.
The province will establish an Emergency Medical Management Situation Room headed by Governor Kim Tae-heum, and will implement a dedicated responsibility system at 16 emergency medical institutions to build an emergency medical care system.
Sixteen designated emergency medical institutions and five hospitals operating emergency rooms will maintain a 24-hour emergency care system at all times.
Additionally, 1,346 on-duty medical institutions and 1,100 pharmacies for mild patients, as well as COVID-19 fever clinics, will also be in operation.
Seong Manje, head of the provincial Health Policy Division, said, "To ease the burden on emergency rooms, we ask that mild patients refrain from using large hospital emergency rooms and that COVID-19 patients use fever clinics, so that emergency room overcrowding does not occur."
