Asan City to Promote Rural Living Water Development in Songak-myeon
By 2026, 22km of Water Supply Pipelines and 7 Booster Stations to Be Newly Constructed
On the 9th, Asan City in South Chungcheong Province announced that it will promote the development of rural water supply in Donghwa-ri, Sugok-ri, and Gangjang-ri in Songak-myeon, areas that are struggling due to the lack of a water supply system.
The city plans to newly install 22km of water pipelines and seven pumping stations by 2026 to provide clean water to residents of Donghwa-ri, Sugok-ri, and Gangjang-ri.
To this end, the city is currently carrying out a detailed design with a priority investment of 500 million won from the city budget this year. If the new rural water supply development project proposed to South Chungcheong Province is finally selected, the project will be fully implemented starting in 2025.
Previously, the city was selected for the 2023 rural water supply development project for Gundeok-ri and Shinsung-ri in Seonjang-myeon, and plans to complete the installation of 6.1km of water pipelines by the end of this year.
A city official said, "We will alleviate residents' inconvenience by gradually expanding water supply facilities in areas with water shortages and deteriorating water quality, and we will strive to provide clear and clean tap water that residents can drink with confidence."
