Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that the '10th Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival,' held over two days on the 7th and 8th at Gungpyeong Port in Seosin-myeon, concluded successfully.

View original imageThe city explained that besides the main venue at Gungpyeong Port, grape sales and small-scale cultural performances were also held at Dongtan Lake Park and Hyangnam 2 District.
With the upcoming launch of the special city status next year, the city adopted the slogan "One Million Hwaseong Representative Specialty Products, Korea's Leading Grape Hwaseong Songsan Grape," expressing its determination to make Hwaseong Songsan grapes the number one grapes in Korea starting from this festival.
In particular, Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun participated in a dance flash mob together with the youth grape organization 'YMGA (Young Men Grape Association, tentative name),' composed of 20 young grape farmers in their 20s and 30s.

Mayor Jeong said, "In the face of rapid aging in agriculture and rural areas, if young farmers are attracted and settle stably, it will lay the foundation for sustainable agriculture and rural communities. Going forward, the city will actively support young farmers in establishing their farming livelihoods."
