Gomdure Selected as Operator of Gongju-si Chestnut Processing and Distribution Center
Operation of Distribution Center for Three Years Until 2027
Gongju City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 6th that it has selected Gomdure Co., Ltd. as the operator of the Gongju Chestnut Processing and Distribution Center to facilitate the distribution and sale of Gongju chestnuts.
To this end, the city recently approved the use of shared property. Gomdure will operate the distribution center for three years until 2027.
The Gongju Chestnut Processing and Distribution Center is equipped with a direct sales store that promotes and sells chestnuts and processed products, as well as a cold storage facility for preserving and storing products.
The city plans to register the center on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's integrated platform for the opening and sharing of public resources, and provide applicants with access to facilities such as meeting rooms.
The center sells 15 types of processed products made from chestnuts and Gongju chestnuts, including chestnut bread, chestnut yogurt, and chestnut Makgeolli.
In particular, Gongju chestnut bread will be sold at highway rest areas and road shops nationwide, while "Marron Glace" will be supplied to hotels and high-end restaurants.
A city official said, "We expect that the Gongju Chestnut Processing and Distribution Center, which has faced challenges in the past, will be normalized and contribute to increasing farmers' income by securing a stable distribution channel for Gongju chestnuts."
