Putin "Supports Harris in US Election... Trump Imposed Many Sanctions on Russia"
Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly expressed support for Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in the November U.S. presidential election, according to Russian media.
On the 5th (local time), during the main session discussion at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) held in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, Russia, President Putin said, "We have previously stated that our preferred candidate is the current President Joe Biden," adding, "However, since he decided not to run and asked us to support Vice President Harris, we will do so."
Earlier, in February when Biden was the Democratic candidate, President Putin responded to the question of which candidate he preferred in this year's election by saying "Biden," and added, "He is more experienced, more predictable, and an old-fashioned politician."
President Putin also commented, "Harris's 'infectious' laughter means that he is doing well."
He further mentioned that former Republican President Donald Trump imposed a tremendous number of sanctions on Russia, and expressed hope that Vice President Harris would not do the same.
