The participants are divided into the ‘University & General Division’ for college students and the general public, and the ‘Children & Youth Division’ for elementary, middle, and high school students as well as youth of the same age group.
Gyeonggi Province will select 41 works through a three-stage evaluation process: the first round by experts, the second round by public voting, and the third final judging. Winners will receive a total prize money of 40 million KRW.
Details of the contest and submission methods can be found on the official contest website (GyeonggiProvinceBrandContest.kr).
Yeoi Jinbit, the Gyeonggi Province Policy Promotion Officer, stated, "Through this contest, we hope that the friendly and cute Gyeonggi character ‘Bonggong-i’ will be used to express the diverse and attractive aspects of Gyeonggi Province that people want to proudly showcase."
Bonggong-i’s name was created by vertically arranging the consonants of the core values of the 8th elected administration, ‘Change’ and ‘Opportunity’: ‘Bieup (ㅂ) + Hieut (ㅎ)’ and ‘Giyeok (ㄱ) + Hieut (ㅎ)’.
