IFA, the world's oldest industrial fair and one of the world's top three information and communication technology (ICT) exhibitions, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. South Korea has been selected as the country of the year for ‘IFA NEXT,’ a special pavilion focused on promising startups and future-oriented innovative companies. Under the theme ‘KT Moving Forward to the Future with Korean Partners,’ KT will set up the exhibition space ‘KT AICT Partners Pavilion.’

The pavilion is organized under the theme ‘AI Services in Everyday Life.’ The booth will showcase AI-related services and products from the 10 selected partner companies. The participating companies are ‘Qanda,’ ‘Superb AI,’ ‘Rabble Up,’ ‘AI2O,’ ‘One Cup,’ ‘Vision Space,’ ‘KL Cube,’ ‘May AI,’ ‘Creative Mind,’ and ‘Nexbrain.’

To help partners achieve results such as attracting investment and exports, KT plans to operate support programs including investment and export consultation meetings and venture capital (VC) forums in cooperation with institutions such as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea International Trade Association.

Kim Hyun-kyung, Deputy Manager of KT’s Partner Win-Win Team, explained, “Previously, there were no follow-up nurturing programs after simple overseas exhibitions, but this time, we are proactively connecting with VCs and providing pre-education on IR pitching know-how,” adding, “We plan to promote practical cooperation to lay the foundation for global expansion.”

KT will also exhibit ‘AI Travel View’ and ‘AI Object Book,’ generative AI content first introduced domestically by the IPTV service ‘Genie TV’ at the pavilion.

AI Travel View is music content created by AI that generates images and sounds capturing the scenery of famous cities and resorts worldwide. For the IFA exhibition, it will be showcased focusing on the cityscape of Berlin, Germany.

AI Object Book is reading content composed of three elements: text, images, and sound. AI extracts keywords from books and produces images and videos, then combines AI-generated background music and dubbed voices to create video-type content.

Im Hyun-kyu, Vice President and Head of KT’s Management Support Division, said, “Through the KT AICT Partners Pavilion prepared for IFA 2024, KT is actively striving to help excellent ventures and startups build a foundation for global expansion.”
