‘Mark-SolidOne Beauty Intelligence Fund No.1’ Key Investor Participation
Discovering Promising Startups, Establishing Open Innovation Partnerships
LG Household & Health Care announced on the 2nd that it has invested 5 billion KRW in the K-beauty startup exclusive investment fund, ‘Mark-SolidOne Beauty Intelligence Fund No.1.’
‘Mark-SolidOne Beauty Intelligence Fund No.1’ is a venture investment partnership recently established by startup investment firm Mark & Company and SolidOne Partners with the purpose of investing in and nurturing beauty startups. The fund is worth a total of 10 billion KRW, with LG Household & Health Care contributing half of that amount, 5 billion KRW, as a key investor.
This fund operates by discovering and evaluating promising companies based on the investment expertise of the fund managers and the beauty company data held by Mark & Company. Using the industry-specific data analysis system ‘Innovation Forest Insight,’ it invests in beauty startups that demonstrate outstanding performance in indicators such as self-operated mall transaction volume, traffic growth rate, repurchase rate, and sales per employee compared to beauty industry benchmarks. After investment, the fund plans to drive rapid growth through systematic support in areas such as funding procurement at each growth stage, organizational management, marketing, and distribution.
LG Household & Health Care has invested in the fund with the aim of actively discovering indie brands and emerging beauty startups with high growth potential. It plans to establish new growth engines such as digital marketing and beauty tech, and increase accessibility to various beauty sector ideas through mid- to long-term networking with entrepreneurs.
