Yongin City Selects 7 Cases of 'Second Half Year Proactive Administration Excellence'
Tunnel and Underpass CCTV - Ranked No.1 in Integration with Smart City Platform
A case where CCTV installed in underpasses and tunnels was linked to the smart city integrated platform to improve blind spots in the control system ranked first among the excellent proactive administration cases in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do in the second half of this year.
Yongin-si announced on the 1st that it selected seven 'excellent proactive administration cases' that actively promoted policies to enhance citizen safety and seek solutions to inconveniences. The city selects policies that have led to the city's development by improving unreasonable regulations through creativity and expertise as excellent proactive administration cases twice a year, in the first and second halves of the year.

The seven excellent cases in the second half were selected from among 10 cases that passed the first screening and were subject to a public vote out of 50 proactive administration cases submitted this year, based on high scores.
As a result of the evaluation, the 'Eliminating Safety Blind Spots with Tunnel and Underpass CCTV!' project by the 4th Industrial Convergence Division took first place. Since 2019, the city has linked 11,778 various CCTVs for crime prevention, disaster, traffic information, and illegal parking enforcement to build a smart integrated platform that allows the city disaster safety situation room to monitor them continuously. However, 212 CCTVs in 39 locations such as tunnels and underpasses managed by Giheung-gu Office, Suji-gu Office, Gyeonggi-do Construction Headquarters, and Suwon Land Management Office had not been connected to the city's smart city integrated platform, making continuous monitoring difficult during severe weather conditions such as heavy rain or typhoons. After persuading each institution to link all CCTV in tunnels and underpasses in the region to the integrated platform for rapid response in disaster situations, the responsible officials introduced a network linkage solution to ensure security and software to transmit video to the integrated platform.
Second place was awarded to the Water Administration Division's 'Smart Water Bill Notification and Leak Risk Alert Service.' This service switched water bill notifications, which had been sent via text messages, to KakaoTalk alerts, allowing citizens to conveniently check and pay their bills. This also reduced message sending costs from 25 won per message to 5 won, saving 2 million won annually.
In addition, ▲ Secured 6 billion won in national funds to improve parking conditions in Gugal Shopping District ▲ Resolved long-standing conflicts in the water source protection area after persistent efforts ▲ Approved the land use plan for the former Police University site in Eonnam District ▲ Achieved the highest adoption rate nationwide (84%) in the Happy Dog Adoption program in Yongin-si ▲ All-in-one book service 'Bookieum': Find the books you want at my library were selected as excellent cases.
