Gijang County in Busan to Host Abundant Reading Culture Events for 'September, Month of Reading'
In Autumn, 5g: A Light Yet Great World
Gijang-gun, Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok) will host a variety of reading culture events in September, the Month of Reading, to share the joy of reading with local residents.
This year’s Month of Reading event, themed "5g, Light but Unfolding a Great World," will be held at seven public libraries in Gijang-gun. Each library will offer unique exhibitions, performances, special lectures, and participatory programs that connect books with the community, providing diverse cultural experiences to spark interest in reading.
Distinctive events will take place at each library, including: ▲ Fusion Korean traditional music performance "Heungbu and Nolbu: Let’s Go Crack the Gourd" (Jeonggwan Library) ▲ "My Heart S S H" - Meeting with children’s book author Kim Jiyeong (Gijang Library) ▲ Sand art performance (Gyori Library) ▲ Musical fairy tale puppet show "The Little Prince’s Journey" (Gochon Eoullim Library) ▲ "Making My Own Hanji Mirror" (Daera Multipurpose Library), among others.
Additionally, the district will offer a variety of programs and attractions, such as ▲ a library book-sharing event ▲ book play activity sheets and upcycled bookmark making ▲ original picture book art exhibitions, and more.
A district official said, "We hope that Gijang-gun residents, tired from the prolonged heat wave, can relax and heal while spending comfortable time with books at the library."
