View original imageThe FM Championship of the LPGA Tour, which opens on the 29th (local time) and runs for four days at TPC Boston (par 72, 6,598 yards) in Norton, Massachusetts, USA, is a battleground. This is the first LPGA Tour event held in the U.S. in four weeks since the Portland Classic earlier this month. After competing in two tournaments in Paris for the Olympics and Scotland, the players return to the U.S. to continue the competition. The FM Championship is a newly established tournament held for the first time this year. The total prize money is $3.8 million (approximately 5.05 billion KRW).
Korea has only one win this year. Hee-young Yang claimed the top spot at the major KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June. World No. 5 Hee-young Yang is aiming for her second win of the season. World No. 6 Jin-young Ko is also challenging for her delayed first victory. In addition to these two players, Arim Kim, Ji-eun Shin, Hye-jin Choi, Se-young Kim, Eun-hee Ji, Mi-hyang Lee, and Na-rin An are also on the entry list.

The competition for the championship is somewhat easier. Top-ranked players who have been busy with the Paris Olympics and major tournaments are skipping this event. World No. 1 Nelly Korda and No. 2 Lilia Vu (both from the U.S.), and World No. 3 Lydia Ko (New Zealand), who won both the Paris Olympics and the AIG Women's Open, are resting. Korea’s competitors include Paris Olympic bronze medalist Xiyu Lin (China), Hannah Green (Australia), C?line Boutier (France), and Rose Zhang (U.S.).
