The ‘Together for Gangdong Project’ is a public-private partnership initiative that identifies vulnerable households in need of assistance and connects them with local community centers or social welfare facilities to provide appropriate welfare services to help them overcome crisis situations.
To this end, the district held a public-private cooperation declaration ceremony at the Gangdong Children’s Center in June to establish a cooperative system. At the same time, it strengthened capabilities by providing activity guidance and necessary knowledge training to social welfare facility workers, who are mandatory reporters, and welfare community leaders.
The ‘Bangbanggotgot Doorknob Project’ will be conducted concurrently with the resident registration fact-finding survey period, which runs until October. A total of 596 welfare community leaders will visit all households (approximately 210,000 households) in the area to distribute doorknob-shaped informational leaflets containing information about welfare services and social welfare facilities. In addition, they will carefully check the actual living environment and living conditions of the survey subjects, focusing on identifying households suspected to be in crisis that are in the blind spots of welfare policies.
This year, the newly introduced ‘Welfare Crisis Alert App’ by the Ministry of Health and Welfare allows residents to quickly and easily request help in welfare crisis situations. It is expected to have a significant effect in preventing welfare blind spots when used together with the ‘Bangbanggotgot Doorknob Project.’
Meanwhile, the district plans to further strengthen the welfare safety net by enhancing cooperation with the local community security council, private social welfare facilities, and organizations, and to provide systematic welfare services by expanding the identification and reception channels for vulnerable households.
