Typhoon Warning Possible for the Eastern South Sea Early Morning
On Wednesday the 28th, there will be occasional clouds nationwide, with rain expected in Gangwon Yeongdong, Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island. The highest apparent temperature will rise to 33-35 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country.

View original imageAccording to the Korea Meteorological Administration, due to the influence of easterly winds on the 28th, Gangwon Yeongdong, Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island will experience rain from dawn until daytime, while southern Jeonbuk and Jeonnam areas may have occasional rain in the afternoon.
Expected precipitation until the 29th is 5-60 mm in Jeju, with some areas in eastern Jeju and mid-mountainous and mountainous regions receiving up to 80 mm or more. Gangwon Yeongdong will see 10-60 mm. Busan, Ulsan, the southern coast of Gyeongnam, the eastern coast of Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo will receive 20-80 mm of rain during the same period.
Daegu, inland Gyeongbuk, and inland Gyeongnam will have 5-60 mm of rain over two days from the 28th to the 29th. Gwangju, Jeonnam, and southern Jeonbuk will see 5-40 mm of rainfall on the 28th.
Until the 29th, strong rain or showers accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning with hourly rates around 20 mm are expected mainly in Gangwon Yeongdong, Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island.
The morning low temperature on the 28th is forecast to be 19-25 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperature 29-33 degrees Celsius. Tropical nights may occur mainly in some urban and coastal areas. Fine dust levels will be 'good' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Strong winds around 15 m/s will blow mainly along the southern coast of Jeonnam, the coastal areas of Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island. From the morning, Jeju Island and from nighttime the southern coast may experience very strong gusts exceeding 20 m/s, with a possibility of a strong wind advisory being issued.
The Korea Meteorological Administration explained, "Due to the influence of Typhoon No. 10 ‘Shanshan’, the wind wave advisory for the outer sea east of the southern sea may be upgraded to a typhoon advisory in the early hours of the 28th, and the typhoon’s path is very variable."
Sea waves will be 0.5-2.5 m in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5-2.0 m in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5-3.5 m in the South Sea coastal waters.
