45-Seater Express Bus Catches Fire on Namhae Expressway ... Property Damage 30 Million Won

Passengers had to evacuate urgently after a fire broke out on a 45-seat express bus traveling on the Namhae Expressway.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Department, at around 2:04 p.m. on the 26th, a fire occurred on a 45-seat express bus near the Jinrye Interchange (IC) on the Namhae Expressway in Jinrye-myeon, Gimhae City.
The fire department, responding to a report from a nearby driver who saw smoke rising from the bus parked on the shoulder, dispatched 33 personnel and 11 pieces of equipment and extinguished the fire completely by 3:18 p.m.
All nine people on the bus?one driver, one assistant driver, and seven passengers?evacuated the vehicle. The passengers were later transferred to a replacement bus that arrived at the scene.
The bus was reportedly traveling from Jinju to Gimhae at the time of the incident.
There were no casualties from the fire, but property damage was estimated at around 30 million won by the fire department.
The police and fire authorities believe the fire started in the rear engine of the bus and are investigating the exact cause and the extent of the damage.
