Regular Disinfection and Support for Quarantine Expenses Strengthen Infection Control in Elderly Welfare Facilities
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has initiated disinfection support for elderly welfare facilities in the area to protect seniors and care workers from various infectious diseases, including COVID-19.
With the resurgence of COVID-19, the risk of infectious disease spread is increasing in welfare facilities used by seniors with weakened immune systems. Accordingly, the district plans to focus on managing facilities vulnerable to infections to prevent mass outbreaks and create a safe care environment for the elderly.
The support targets a total of 222 locations, including ▲ long-term care institutions for the elderly ▲ senior job agencies (Gwangjin Senior Club) ▲ customized elderly care service agencies (Gwangjin Senior Welfare Center, Neulpureun Care Center) ▲ elderly leisure welfare facilities (senior centers, senior welfare centers). Customized disinfection supplies for personal hygiene, such as KF94 masks, hand sanitizers, and test kits, will be provided according to each facility.
Additionally, the district will regularly disinfect facilities and support disinfection costs necessary for facility operations to ensure thorough disinfection management of elderly welfare facilities.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “More meticulous disinfection management is necessary to protect the elderly who are vulnerable to infections,” and added, “Gwangjin-gu will continue to do its best to support disinfection so that seniors can safely use welfare facilities.”
