SK C&C Begins Construction and Relocation Project of Bank of Korea Gyeonggi IT Center
IT Center Energy Efficiency Improvement
Strengthening Safety Facilities for Disaster and Emergency Response
SK C&C announced on the 26th that it has commenced the Korea Bank Gyeonggi IT Center construction and relocation project. This project aims to build the Korea Bank Gyeonggi IT Center by 2025 and relocate the currently operating Gangnam IT Center to the Gyeonggi IT Center.
Beyond a simple IT infrastructure relocation, the project includes various complex tasks such as ▲establishing an IT center-based environment ▲building network and information security ▲constructing IT infrastructure for the accounting and payment system ▲relocating IT assets.
SK C&C completed the "Consulting Project for Establishing and Relocating the Korea Bank Gyeonggi IT Center" in December last year. Through this, they proposed plans for the construction and relocation of the Gyeonggi IT Center based on an analysis of IT resources linked to the Korea Bank Gyeonggi IT Center facilities and systems.
Based on the consulting results, SK C&C plans to swiftly build the Gyeonggi IT Center environment. In particular, they will enhance energy efficiency of the IT center and strengthen safety measures to respond effectively in case of disasters or emergencies.
To this end, they plan to install an air-sealed cold aisle containment system to minimize cold air loss and reduce power consumption required for IT center operations by more than 15%. They will strengthen the ability to quickly detect and respond to IT equipment failures through leak detection sensors, differential pressure sensors, and front temperature and humidity sensors.
Additionally, a comprehensive control room will be established to respond quickly and effectively to various situations that may occur within the IT center.
For the safe transfer of IT center functions, new IT infrastructure and networks will be built, and security stability will be enhanced. To increase the stability of the relocation work, systems will be switched in phases, and tests linked with financial institutions will be conducted concurrently.
