She revealed that she interned at a company in Hanoi last year and participated in a company event during that time. Huynh explained that this event was mandatory at the company, and if she had not attended, she would have had to pay a fine or take on additional work.
At this company event, Huynh’s supervisor suggested playing a drinking game with everyone. During this, a male employee made an outrageous demand to Huynh. She said, "A male employee about the age of my father told me that if I couldn’t drink three shots at once, I had to kiss him," adding, "This was the first time I had encountered such a strange game."
The male employee approached Huynh, grabbed her hand, and forced her to drink. Eventually, Huynh had no choice but to drink all three shots. It was reported that the man stayed by her side until she finished drinking and then moved on to another woman. Huynh said, "He kept coming close to my face, and I was so scared that I burst into tears," and added, "For several days afterward, I was terrified and anxious, and I ultimately decided to resign." She also claimed that she confided in her supervisor about this before resigning but received no response.
It was also reported that during this event, Huynh participated in a water-carrying contest on the beach with her colleagues. She recalled, "The weather was very hot, and it was exhausting to drag the water containers around." She continued, "A male employee approached a female employee who was sitting down to rest and dragged her into the sea," recalling, "This was torture; I couldn’t see it as something meant to promote team unity."
Local netizens who heard this story responded with comments such as "This is clear sexual harassment," "I can’t understand playing such games at work," "Events outside of work should never be mandatory," and "All team members must be respected."
