Honam University Department of Architecture, 'Construction Field VR Utilization' High School Linked Education
Participation of 3rd Year Students from Gwangju Jeonja Technical High School Design Department
The Department of Architecture at Honam University (Head: Jihoon Park) conducted a high school-linked educational program titled "Utilization of VR in the Construction Field (Phase 2)" on the 23rd at the Architecture Design Studio on the 8th floor of the Creative Hall. The program targeted third-year students from the Design Department of Gwangju Electronics Technical High School and focused on "Building Low-Carbon Smart Cities and Training Energy-Saving Construction Professionals."
This education was carried out with the support of the Regional Innovation Platform Project Group (RIS Director: Jepyeong Jeong).
Yoon Eun-chong, a third-year student participating in the program, said, "Through VR, I was able to experience various situations that occur on actual construction sites, which made it very beneficial to connect what I learned theoretically with real-world practice. In particular, my understanding of how the concept of a low-carbon smart city is implemented deepened, and I believe this experience will greatly help me in choosing my career path."
Professor Jonghyun Park of the Department of Architecture, who planned the program, emphasized, "This program provided students with the opportunity to experience the future construction environment, focusing on helping them realize the importance of low-carbon smart cities and equipping them with the capabilities needed to design and implement them. By combining theory and practice, the program was structured to allow students to gain more practical learning experiences."
