According to the legal community on the 23rd, the Hongseong Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office recently indicted Chungnam Provincial Council member A and B, the head of the People Power Party's Seocheon office, without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Council member A and others are accused of illegally installing an election banner for Jang Donghyuk, then the People Power Party candidate, in front of a polling station in Pangyo-myeon, Seocheon-gun, on April 10, the voting day of the 22nd general election.
The Public Official Election Act stipulates that election campaigns can only be conducted from the start of the official campaign period until the day before the election.
