Meta-Spotify CEO: "European AI Regulations Are Inconsistent and Complex"
Meta and Spotify CEOs jointly criticized Europe's artificial intelligence (AI) technology regulations for lacking consistency and being overly complex.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, and Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify, wrote in an article published on the 21st (local time) in The Economist that "without urgent changes, European companies and academia risk missing out on the next wave of technology investments and economic growth opportunities."
The two CEOs advised that Europe needs to leverage open-source AI technology. They stated, "Europe is well-positioned to fully capitalize on the open-source AI wave," but also pointed out that "fragmented regulatory frameworks implemented inconsistently are hindering innovation."
