According to the city, this project is based on the '2030 Yeosu City Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan' established in 2020, aiming to analyze the changed local conditions and environment and reflect the latest tourism trends to set the direction for mid- to long-term tourism policies until 2035.
Accordingly, plans will be prepared in seven areas: ▲ sustainable tourism policies ▲ tourism resource development ▲ designation of tourism special zones ▲ festivals and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry ▲ promotion and marketing ▲ development of new tourism and cultural contents ▲ attraction of overseas tourists.
The meeting, chaired by Vice Mayor Choi Jeong-gi, was attended by about 20 people including advisory committee members, related officials, and the project execution company. They shared and collected opinions on the direction of tourism resource promotion linked to projects Yeosu is pursuing, such as the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, the undersea tunnel between Yeosu and Namhae, and the construction of the Eleven Bridge.
Vice Mayor Choi Jeong-gi said, "The 2035 Yeosu City Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan aims not only to attract tourists but also to build a sustainable tourism model that grows with the region," adding, "We will meticulously design the blueprint for an international marine tourism and leisure city."
