Institutions, Local Businesses, Academia, Medical Community, and Citizens Participate
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Yang Jaesaeng) held the formation of the Clear Water Task Force (TF) and its first meeting at 2:00 PM on the 8th floor conference room of the Busan Chamber on the 20th.
This TF meeting was convened to officially launch related projects after Chairman Yang Jaesaeng, following the inauguration of the 25th council of the Busan Chamber, included the clear water supply project as one of the five core priority tasks in the Chamber's social contribution initiatives and expressed strong commitment to its active promotion.
Going forward, the Busan Chamber plans to play a leading role by exploring measures for clear water supply through the TF and commissioning studies by relevant experts.
The Clear Water TF is composed of 15 experts representing various sectors, including the Busan Water Industry Association, water-related professional institutions and research institutes in Busan, local companies, academia, the medical community, and civic groups.
As the first meeting of the newly formed TF, the session began with an explanation of the TF's purpose and a progress report on the government's Nakdong River water intake diversification project, followed by a free discussion among participating members on the topic of 'Measures for Supplying Clear Water in the Busan Area.'
During the meeting, TF members shared in-depth opinions on the seriousness of Busan's drinking water issues, the active promotion of the Nakdong River water intake diversification project, the re-proposal of related special legislation, and the development of win-win strategies with residents of water intake areas, all aimed at finding solutions for supplying clear water to Busan.
There was also discussion on operational plans for the Clear Water TF, including research studies to explore future clear water supply measures.
