Guro-gu Strengthens User Safety by Deploying Resident Staff on Hwangtotgil Paths
Deployment of Dedicated On-Site Staff at 3 Loess Trails to Ensure 'Best Loess Trail Experience'
Two Additional Sites Including Jatjeol Park and Gaewoongsan Neighborhood Park Scheduled for Development Within the Year
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is putting all efforts into ensuring the safety of users as the number of residents visiting the loess trails increases due to the popularity of barefoot walking.
In response to the growing demand for barefoot walking and residents' requests, the district has created and is operating a total of three loess trails from October 2023 to June this year: two locations near Sinjeonggyo and Gocheokgyo bridges along Anyangcheon Stream, and one at Yeonji Neighborhood Park.
The loess trail near Sinjeonggyo Bridge along Anyangcheon Stream features roses planted along the sides, allowing visitors to enjoy a beautiful landscape, while the trail near Gocheokgyo Bridge is built under a tree tunnel of cherry trees, providing a pleasant walk in the shade of the trees.
The Yeonji Neighborhood Park loess trail, the longest in the area at 460 meters, is lined on both sides with cypress trees, offering a uniquely special barefoot walking experience.
Since opening, these loess trails have become representative spots for residents' health promotion and healing, with about 200 to 300 users daily on average.
Accordingly, the district is deploying dedicated staff at each of the three loess trail locations to prevent accidents and manage safety.
Since walking barefoot on the loess trails can cause injuries to the soles from stones or sharp objects, the district conducts cleaning of the foot washing stations, deck paths, and loess trails more than twice daily.
If rain is forecasted on the day, tents are preemptively covered over the trails and operations are suspended to prevent loess erosion and ensure user safety.
Additionally, the district plans to provide the best loess trails for residents through meticulous and detailed management, including regularly replenishing the loess and spraying water.
Furthermore, to allow all residents to enjoy the pleasure of barefoot walking, the district plans to enhance accessibility by adding loess trails within this year at Jatjeol Park and Gaewoongsan Neighborhood Park.
