Chu Kyung Ho, floor leader of the People Power Party, on the 19th called on the newly appointed leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, led by Lee Jae Myung, to immediately launch a consultative body involving the ruling and opposition parties and the government to discuss livelihood and reform legislation. He also stressed that the Democratic Party should actively participate in forming a special parliamentary committee on pension reform, which failed to reach an agreement during the 21st National Assembly.
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, that morning, Chu stated, "I hope that by launching a consultative body for immediate discussions on livelihood and reform bills-such as the Semiconductor Act, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act, abolition of the Financial Investment Income Tax, easing of the Comprehensive Real Estate Tax, inheritance tax reform, and reforms in labor, education, and pensions-and by reaching an agreement to form a special parliamentary committee on pension reform, the plenary session on the 28th can become the starting point for a National Assembly focused on the people's livelihood."
He further emphasized, "I hope that the ruling and opposition parties can come together to reach as many agreements as possible on urgent livelihood and economic bills, including not only the Gu Hara Act and Nurse Act, but also the Special Act on Lease Fraud, the Act on the Establishment of the Population Strategy Planning Department, the Special Act on High-Level Radioactive Waste (nuclear waste disposal), the Act on Expansion of the National Power Grid, and legislation to expand support for childbirth and childcare as well as strengthen penalties for delayed wage payments."

Meanwhile, regarding National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Sik's absence from the Liberation Day celebration on the 15th, Chu said, "It is all the more regrettable since the decision was made despite concerns that the Speaker, who represents the legislative branch, could be misunderstood as a member of a particular party if he does not attend." He urged, "As the head of the legislative branch, I request that you act with balance and neutrality solely on behalf of the people."
