‘Guro Station-NC Department Store Connecting Passage Construction’ Enhances Pedestrian Mobility

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) has commenced the 'Guro Station Connecting Passage Environment Improvement Project,' which connects Guro Station and NC Department Store Shinguro Branch.
The Guro Station connecting passage has been in use since its completion in December 1993 without any remodeling projects, posing a threat to pedestrian safety and remaining in a deteriorated state that damages the urban landscape, making construction necessary.
Accordingly, since July 20, the district has improved the urban aesthetics by completely replacing the floor of the 4.8m wide and 61m long Guro Station connecting passage with granite slabs, installing reinforced glass walls and windows, repainting frames, cleaning both interior and exterior, and injecting silicone.
Along with this, one staircase was refurbished to create a bright and pleasant space.
The district plans to complete this construction by the end of August.

A Guro-gu official stated, “Since the Guro Station connecting passage is a thoroughfare used by many residents daily, we will do our best to complete the construction safely,” and added, “We will continue to take the lead in creating a pleasant walking environment.”
