Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting local merchants to participate in the food program "Goryeo Market" at the "2024 Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival."
Held at Nakseongdae Park, the "2024 Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival" will feature the theme "Gang Gam-chan Feast," offering not only a rich variety of sights but also diverse food options to enhance the festive atmosphere.
To this end, the district will operate the food program "Goryeo Market" on October 12 and 13, linked with the local commercial district, to satisfy the taste buds of residents enjoying the festival and to promote the revitalization of the local economy.
"Goryeo Market" is a unique food space where representative local eateries from Gwanak-gu, including traditional markets, Sharosugil, and alleyway commercial districts, participate by planning and selling menus that fit the festival theme of "feast."
The district is recruiting about 10 teams to operate the Goryeo Market until August 26. Businesses eligible to participate include general restaurants or instant sales manufacturing and processing businesses registered in Gwanak-gu, or those that can temporarily register for business during the festival period. However, large franchise companies are discouraged from selection to promote the activation of local commercial districts such as alleyway markets.
Participation in the Goryeo Market is free of charge, and various items necessary for operation, such as tables, chairs, and reusable containers, will be provided. All sales revenue will be paid in full to the sellers.
To participate in the Goryeo Market recruitment, qualifications include appropriate sales pricing, mandatory use of card terminals, temporary business registration according to the Food Sanitation Act, selling food using reusable containers, and participation on October 12-13.
Applications for "Goryeo Market" can be submitted by mail or email to the Gwanak Cultural Foundation. Related documents and detailed information can be found on the websites of Gwanak-gu Office and the Gwanak Cultural Foundation.
Meanwhile, the district plans to implement an eco-friendly festival by introducing the ESG concept through the use of reusable containers at all Goryeo Market booths, contributing to the practice of "Plastic Free Seoul."
