17th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony for the Late Mrs. Byeon Jung-seok... Chung Eui-sun and Hyundai Family Attend
Gathered at Home in Cheongun-dong... After About 5 Months
On the 17th anniversary of the passing of the late Mrs. Byeon Jung-seok, wife of the late Asan Chung Ju-yung, Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Group, the extended Hyundai family gathered together on the 16th.
According to Hyundai Motor Group, on the afternoon of the day before Mrs. Byeon's 17th anniversary, the extended Hyundai family gathered at the former residence of Honorary Chairman Chung in Cheongun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to hold a memorial rite.
The extended Hyundai family reunited about five months after holding the 23rd anniversary memorial rite for Honorary Chairman Chung in March. Since last year, the family has been holding separate memorial rites for Honorary Chairman Chung and Mrs. Byeon.
This year’s memorial rite was attended by the eldest grandson, Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, as well as Chung Mong-joon, Chairman of the Asan Social Welfare Foundation; Hyun Jeong-eun, Chairwoman of Hyundai Group; Chung Mong-yoon, Chairman of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance; Chung Mong-gyu, Chairman of HDC Group; and Chung Mong-ik, Chairman of KCC Glass.
Also present were Chung Ki-sun, Vice Chairman of HD Hyundai; Chung Ji-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Department Store; Chung Il-sun, President of Hyundai BNG Steel; Chung Sung-yi, Advisor of Innocean; along with former H&INC President Chung Dae-sun and former announcer Noh Hyun-jung and her husband.

The Cheongun-dong residence was inherited by Chung Mong-gu, Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, in 2001 and was passed on to his son, Chairman Chung Eui-sun, in 2019.
