Changwon Mayor Hong Nam-pyo: "May the Light of Liberation Continue Through Citizens' Unity"
Nam-pyo Hong, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, attended the bell-ringing ceremony commemorating the 79th anniversary of Liberation Day held at Changwon Daejonggak on the 15th.
Approximately 200 people gathered at the ceremony, including Mayor Hong, Tae-hwa Son, Chairman of the City Council, Kyung-chul Cho, Head of the Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office, Dong-chul Kim, President of the Changwon Branch of the Liberation Association, descendants of independence patriots, and others.

Mayor Hong stated, "I pray for the repose of the independence patriots who sacrificed for our country's independence and offer consolation and respect to their families."
He continued, "Although we regained our light through liberation, the current security environment we face is not easy, with wars around the world caused by the US-China hegemony conflict, provocations from North Korea, and ongoing conflicts and divisions within our country. In order to carry on the light of liberation, above all, we need the unity of our citizens and national integration."
