On the 14th, Jeong Myeong-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, visited the Hwaseong City Jeongjo Hyo Senior Welfare Center on Malbok (the last of the three hottest days of summer) and volunteered to serve meals together with Seonghyo, the head monk of Yongjusa Temple, and other volunteers.

On that day, the Hwaseong City Jeongjo Hyo Senior Welfare Center prepared samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) as a special meal and supported vulnerable elderly visitors through side events. Mayor Jeong served meals to about 500 seniors and spent time communicating with them.
Jeong Myeong-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "I hope the seniors who have endured this year's difficult heat will remain healthy for the rest of the year," adding, "We will continue to do our best to establish senior welfare policies for the healthy and prosperous lives of the elderly."

The Hwaseong City Jeongjo Hyo Senior Welfare Center has been operating since its opening in January this year. The welfare center is equipped with counseling rooms, physical therapy rooms, senior dining halls, rest areas, billiard rooms, table tennis rooms, janggi and baduk rooms, a large conference room, program rooms, calligraphy and art rooms, and DIY craft rooms.
