I also won the grand prize in the Takju category... Collaboration with Hanwha Eagles
“Doksuri Makgeolli,” produced by the Daejeon-based agricultural corporation Sintanjin Joojo Co., Ltd., has won the grand prize in the low-alcohol takju category at the “2024 Korea Traditional Liquor Awards.”
The Korea Traditional Liquor Awards, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation since 2010, is a government-hosted competition aimed at improving the quality and competitiveness of traditional Korean liquors.
This year, 395 products from 246 breweries across the country were submitted in six categories: low-alcohol takju, high-alcohol takju, yakcheongju, fruit liquor, distilled liquor (distilled soju, general distilled liquor), and other liquors. Eighteen products were selected as winners.
“Doksuri Makgeolli” is a collaborative product between Hanwha Eagles and Sintanjin Joojo Co., Ltd., a local brewery in Daejeon. It is characterized by its natural sweetness and subtle fruity aroma.
The awards ceremony will be held during the commemorative event for the “2024 Korea Traditional Liquor Festival” in November. Award-winning products will receive prize money and various promotional benefits, including invitations to buyer tasting events, support for entry into bottle shops and bars, and online marketing.
Park Dohyun, Director of Greenery and Agricultural Life at Daejeon City, said, “We will continue to do our best to promote the excellence of traditional liquors produced in Daejeon.”
