Completion of Bucheon Chunui Economic Base Urban Regeneration Project... R&D Comprehensive Center Completed
Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 13th that the Bucheon Chunui economic base-type urban regeneration project has been completed with the recent completion of the Research and Development (R&D) Comprehensive Center.
After being selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's public contest in 2016, the city carried out four pilot projects as part of the Bucheon Chunui economic base-type urban regeneration project. The city sequentially completed the MESSE Street, Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation Center, and the aboveground M?bius Plaza, and on the 5th, finished the construction of the R&D Comprehensive Center.
The R&D Comprehensive Center, located in the area of Chunui-dong 38, is a building with 2 basement floors and 13 aboveground floors, covering a total floor area of 18,000 square meters. It was built to create R&D research spaces in the aging Chunui industrial area and to establish an economic hub by linking with the existing knowledge industry center.
The R&D Comprehensive Center will house spaces for research and development companies, offices, lecture rooms, a venture cafe, and an urban integrated control center. In particular, the previously scattered urban control centers (traffic and security) have been integrated, enabling efficient management of urban infrastructure within the region.
The R&D Comprehensive Center is scheduled to officially open in January next year after interior construction and tenant recruitment in the second half of this year.

Mayor Jo Yong-ik stated, "With the completion of the R&D Comprehensive Center, the Chunui economic base-type urban regeneration project has been successfully concluded," adding, "Through this project, we will establish an economic hub for research and production and lay the foundation for strengthening the competitiveness and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises."
