Yongsan-gu Creates 'Jatuli Land Parking Lot' on Privately Owned Land in Hyochang-dong
Establishment of 25 Spaces on 754㎡ in Hyochang-dong 2-27 Area... Agreement with Landowners
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) has decided to create a public parking lot on privately owned land that had been left as vacant lots. The 5th Yongsan-gu Jatuli Land Parking Lot will be located at 2 Hyochang-dong, covering an area of 754㎡, and will have approximately 25 parking spaces. It is scheduled to operate for about two years from the second half of this year until the fourth quarter of 2026.
On the 8th, the district signed an agreement with landowner Jo Ji-ho for the creation and operation of the Jatuli Land Parking Lot on six parcels including 2-27 Hyochang-dong at the district mayor’s office.
The site is privately owned land that has been left vacant without any buildings for a long time, causing hygiene issues such as the appearance of various insects. Additionally, the area around the project site suffers from severe parking shortages, causing inconvenience to residents.
Since January last year, the district has been promoting a project to create resident-priority parking lots by utilizing Jatuli land, aiming to improve both parking difficulties and residential environments simultaneously. The Jatuli Land Parking Lots established so far during the 8th elected term are ▲ No. 1, Huam-dong ▲ No. 2, Wonhyo-ro 2-ga ▲ No. 3, Wonhyo-ro 1-ga (planned construction site) ▲ No. 4, Hangang-ro 1-ga (under construction).
The detailed matters of fee collection and operation for the Jatuli Land Parking Lot to be created this time will be handled by the Yongsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation.
