Emro, the No.1 AI-based supply chain management software company in Korea, is set to build HL Mando's global integrated procurement system.

On the 12th, Emro announced that it had secured the 'Procurement Integrated System PI (Process Innovation) Consulting and System Construction' project to be applied at HL Mando's domestic and overseas business sites, a leading automotive parts company in Korea.

With extensive experience and high understanding in building procurement systems in the automotive industry, and having carried out procurement system expansion projects for numerous domestic conglomerates and their overseas subsidiaries and affiliates, Emro has strengthened its market position by expanding its customer portfolio through the project contract with HL Mando.

The goal is to establish a standardized procurement process to be applied to HL Mando's eight global production subsidiaries, including its domestic headquarters in Korea, as well as locations in the United States, China, Mexico, India, and Poland, and to build a system that can realize a global procurement strategy based on this.

As the global automotive industry environment rapidly changes, with ongoing trade disputes, expanding geopolitical crises, and increased volatility in raw material prices causing greater market uncertainties affecting production, automotive parts companies find it more important than ever to establish a close and flexible supply chain management system with globally dispersed partners to quickly respond to market changes.

To support HL Mando's digital-based procurement innovation and strengthen supply chain crisis response capabilities, Emro will first conduct PI consulting to analyze the procurement work status and specificities of HL Mando's domestic and overseas business sites, designing a global standard procurement process along with country-specific specialized processes. The procurement systems, previously built individually by work units, will be integrated and advanced based on digital new technologies to provide procurement work efficiency, convenience, and visibility across the global procurement process.

The HL Mando project will apply Emro's newly upgraded supply chain management software, ‘SMARTsuite v10.0’. ‘SMARTsuite v10.0’ is characterized by embedding and providing integrated solutions that meet increasingly complex procurement tasks and diverse corporate customer demands, including systematic cost management functions from the new product development stage and AI features specialized for procurement. Most importantly, by strengthening the development procurement function, which is gaining importance especially in manufacturing, companies adopting ‘SMARTsuite v10.0’ can maximize cost reduction opportunities and enhance cost competitiveness even before full-scale product mass production.

Emro plans to complete PI consulting and process design by November, finish building the global integrated procurement system in the first half of next year, and apply it to HL Mando's domestic and overseas business sites in the second half.

An Emro official said, "As burdens increase due to global raw material price hikes and inflation, demand from companies aiming to reduce costs and respond to supply chain risks through next-generation procurement systems is steadily growing." He added, "Leading domestic companies across various industries, including HL Mando, have already decided to adopt ‘SMARTsuite v10.0’, accelerating the digital transformation of procurement operations."
