Man in His 70s Drowns While Catching Freshwater Snails in Yeongcheongangseo, Jinju
On the 10th, a man in his 70s drowned while catching freshwater snails in the Yeongcheongang River in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to Jinju Police Station on the 11th, at around 3:45 p.m. the previous day, a man in his 70s, identified as A, was found unconscious after falling into the water while catching freshwater snails with companions in the Yeongcheongang River in Geumgok-myeon, Jinju.
A, who was rescued, was immediately transported to the hospital by paramedics but ultimately passed away.
The police concluded, based on an examination, that A drowned after entering a deep part of the river.
