Busan Urban Corporation CEO Conducts On-site Inspection of 'Busan Concert Hall' Before Completion
President Kim Yonghak, Safety and Quality Management at Worksites Amid Heatwave
Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, recently visited the nearly completed Busan Concert Hall to personally inspect the operation of the venue's interior facilities, various equipment, and the progress of exterior construction work.
On the 6th, President Kim received a progress report from on-site officials and inspected the interior of the venue (the main concert hall and chamber hall), checking the finishing status of the interior, audience seating, stage equipment, air conditioning systems, and lighting installations. He also reviewed various convenience facilities such as the rehearsal room, ticket booth, and lobby, as well as the landscaping and civil engineering work outside the concert hall.
Additionally, he personally encouraged the on-site workers who are focused on their tasks despite the heatwave, and emphasized the importance of maintaining appropriate working conditions and rest periods to ensure their health and well-being.
The 'Busan Concert Hall' (Busan International Arts Center Construction Project), which is scheduled for completion at the end of this month, is the only large-scale concert hall in Busan dedicated to classical music.
It features vineyard-style seating with the stage at the center, minimizing the distance between the stage and the audience and allowing for grand sound to be enjoyed from any seat. The total floor area is 19,862 square meters, with three basement levels, a 2,000-seat concert hall dedicated to classical music, a 400-seat chamber hall (multipurpose small performance hall), rehearsal rooms, and practice rooms.
Furthermore, a 'pipe organ', known as the king of instruments, will be installed on the upper front wall of the concert hall for the first time outside the capital region, establishing the venue as a world-class concert hall specializing in classical music.
