Busan Urban Corporation Achieves 'Excellent' Rating in Management Evaluation for Three Consecutive Years
Outstanding Management Efficiency and Proactive ESG Management Promotion
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) has received the 'B' grade (3rd out of 15 institutions), an excellent rating, for the third consecutive year in the 2024 local public enterprise management evaluation (based on 2023 performance) organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The management evaluation is a system in which experts in various fields comprehensively assess the overall management performance of local public institutions across the country over the past year.
This year, a total of 262 local public institutions nationwide were evaluated in two categories?management administration and management performance?using more than 20 detailed indicators. After a detailed assessment, the Policy Committee assigned grades across five levels (A to E). This year’s evaluation reinforced indicators related to major public policy initiatives, such as innovation and management efficiency improvements in local public institutions, structural reforms, and responses to low birth rates and regional depopulation.
BMC was recognized as an excellent institution for its efforts, including ▲improvement in financial indicators compared to the previous year ▲advancement of the BMC Housing Welfare Index ▲establishment of a safety management platform enabling real-time workplace management ▲introduction of a chatbot for civil complaint responses and increased work efficiency through digitalization of key tasks ▲establishment of a platform supporting local private companies’ overseas expansion ▲proactive ESG management through joining the United Nations Global Compact and publishing a sustainability report.
