On the 2nd (local time), Kim Joo-hyung shot 3-under-par 68, including 1 eagle, 3 birdies, and 2 bogeys, in the men's golf second round held at Le Golf National (par 71, 7,174 yards) in Gyangcour near Paris, France.
With a total score of 8-under-par 134, Kim Joo-hyung finished the second round tied for 5th place, closing the gap to the medal positions. He is 3 strokes behind the joint leaders, putting him in a position to contend for a medal and even challenge for the lead in the remaining 3rd and 4th rounds.
On the 3rd hole (par 5), Kim's second shot landed in a bunker near the green, but he managed to make an eagle from the bunker shot. Additionally, he reduced his score with three consecutive birdies from the 13th to the 15th holes.
Zander Shofley (USA), the gold medalist at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Hideki Matsuyama (Japan), the first-round leader, and Tommy Fleetwood (UK) are tied for first place with 11-under-par 131.
