13th Geumcheon Entrepreneur Award Nominee Applications Open
From the 1st to September 4th, Candidate Recommendations Accepted for Judging and Awarding Businesspeople Contributing to Regional Economic Development
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will accept nominations for candidates from September 1 to September 4 to award the ‘13th Geumcheon Entrepreneur Award’ to local businesspeople who have contributed to the development of the regional economy.
The ‘Geumcheon Entrepreneur Award’ is presented annually to encourage entrepreneurs who have contributed to the development and revitalization of the regional economy and to enhance their pride as members of the local community.
Candidates eligible for nomination are entrepreneurs who have operated a business for more than two years with a factory or main office located within the region and who have contributed to the revitalization of the regional economy and the development of the local community. However, those who have previously received the Geumcheon Entrepreneur Award, those who have been awarded the mayor’s commendation within the last three years, and those with outstanding local tax arrears are excluded from nomination.
Nominations can be made jointly by 20 or more Geumcheon residents or businesspeople (employees), or by heads of business-related organizations, community chiefs, or department heads. Nominators must complete a nomination form and a statement of merit, then submit these along with relevant supporting documents to the Geumcheon-gu Office’s Regional Economy Division or the community service center of the candidate’s business location. Required documents can be downloaded from the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the district office’s website.
The awardees will be selected through deliberation by the Entrepreneur Award Merit Review Committee, and the award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Geumcheon Residents’ Day celebration in October. Awardees will receive a plaque and benefits such as additional points (3 to 5 points) when applying for the Small and Medium Business Development Fund.
Including the seven awardees from the 12th ceremony held last year, a total of 65 individuals have been honored since the first ceremony in 2012.
