Going beyond simple information sharing, this event served as a platform for interactive communication, where employees themselves revealed unreasonable practices or inefficiencies on-site, and management participated in decision-making regarding improvement measures to resolve the issues raised.
Chun Siyeol, Director of Pohang Steelworks, said, "This meeting is significant in that employees themselves identified problems and improvement measures regarding unreasonable practices and systems on-site," adding, "We will ensure that the excellent solutions derived are implemented immediately through the relevant departments."
For issues identified during the meeting that require further review, actions will be taken through the 'Labor-Management Joint Task Force for Improving Maintenance Staff Working Conditions' launched on the 25th. The company also promised to improve unreasonable work practices and customs from a zero-base perspective to enhance employee job satisfaction and improve working conditions.
This demonstrates that Pohang Steelworks is taking the lead in strengthening trust within the organization and creating an environment where employees can focus on their core tasks to overcome the current challenging business conditions.
Furthermore, the company plans to regularly provide opportunities for communication like this town hall meeting to continuously foster positive changes within the steelworks.
